Taking their name from Creative Director Hannah Bidmead’s Grandma and her twin sister, Nancy & Betty are purveyors of fine stationery…

I first came across them at the Whitstable Oyster Festival, and being a bit a stationery geek, was instantly smitten! So I was very excited when they got in touch to see if I’d like to feature their studio on my creative spaces series.

I have a strange obsession with map chests – it’s one of those items of furniture you only have when you’re properly creative, I think, and so always a great source of envy, for those of us who haven’t quite got there yet! This was one an eBay find – and I’m very impressed with the particularly neat labels.

…and it’s even more exciting when you see what’s inside.

The studio is within Hannah’s home, and she’s gone to great lengths to create a really inspiring environment. The wallpaper is Grove Garden by Osborne and Little.

And that’s not just through what’s on the walls, but also by surrounding herself with things she loves, like these vintage typewriters and fabulous till (I used to have one just like it!) and these old Sellotape tins, variously sourced from eBay and an uncle’s house clearance…

Of course it helps that the products are gorgeous too…

I need some of that tape, infact a bit of everything would be good its all amazing, you are so lucky to get to visit these places. What a beautiful workspace, I would be so happy if I had a job that meant I had to spend the day there. Nx
