I’m very interested in the Bauhaus women. They were discouraged from doing furniture or architecture and made to do textiles or pottery instead. Marguerite Friedlaender Wildenhain went on to design tableware for industry (KPM in Berlin) and became a leading studio potter in America. Grete Marks designed pottery and later settled in England but the potteries in Stoke-on-Trent weren’t very receptive to her ideas.
