Not Another Bill

The first time I visited Not Another Bill‘s studio I knew I had to include it in my creative spaces series – so I’m really excited about this month’s post. And spending time with Team NAB on a Friday afternoon is never a chore!

Not Another Bill

Not Another Bill is a fabulously simple concept – you pay a monthly fee and every month they send you a surprise present in the post. In the past they have collaborated with everyone from Tatty Devine to Penhaligon’s to create one-off gifts for their subscribers.

They say: “Our aim to surprise and delight you, whilst introducing you to great artists, designers and brands.” I say: “Where do I sign?!”

What impressed me about their studio is that all the furniture was designed by Not Another Bill founder (and former M&C Saatchi art director) Ned Corbett-Winder to be completely flexible around the different tasks that take place within the relatively small space. It can be an office…

It can be a production line for packing presents…

…and it can be a photography studio for shooting them.

All the units are on wheels, contain storage and even have handy bull dog clips attached to stop those pesky laptop cables falling to the floor every time you move your laptop. I love the rough and ready industrial aesthetic.

By the very nature of what they do, the space is full of inspiring products by fabulous designers.

And Ned’s addiction to Sunbury Antiques Market at Kempton Park (6.30am on a Tuesday morning!) provides the rest of the little curios dotted around the place.

I asked what the significance of the map was. “Nothing. It was just a fiver when I bought something else at Kempton and I kind of liked it.”

And of course, it’s a packaging nerd’s seventh heaven – aside from the collaborations with designers, packaging is Not Another Bill’s main design output!
