I was so happy that I made it to Origin this year, having missed it last year. Focused on contemporary craft, it’s got a slightly different vibe from other shows at the London Design Festival and features a wonderful array of everything from understated craftsmanship to the positively quirky. Here are my favourites…

Margo Selby

I’m a big fan of Margo Selby‘s sumptuous fabrics, so it was lovely to see her latest work.

Victoria Coleman

I adore silver, so it was a treat and a temptation to be introduced to the work of silversmith Victoria Coleman. I love the way the silver almost seems to be escaping the confines of the bowl in this piece.

Azurer

I absolutely fell in love with these charming little pots by Azurer, which look grown rather than made.

Derek Wilson

In fact I was in potter’s heaven with beautiful ceramics from Derek Wilson (above) and the pieces below from Noa Ceramics, made using Indian antique printing blocks.

I’m a sucker for chunky knits, buttons and cushions with character, so Catherine Tough had me at ‘hello’!

And last but not least, I loved Victoria Delany‘s Moire bowls, ‘reappropriating craft through the use of modern aesthetics’.
