I am delighted to announce that I have recently been appointed Editor at Large for Design Milk, and will be covering European trade shows and other events. My first excersion was to Maison et Objet in Paris. I’ve already shared my best bits here, but I thought I would also share the more detailed posts I wrote for Design Milk.

“Trends at Maison et Objet 2012

Orange at Maison & Objet

Maison & Objet is the first big design trade show of the year, and so traditionally sees a lot of new launches and new trends. I went over to Paris to check it out. My first impressions, somewhat hampered by a full cloakroom, were…”

Then, this fabulous installation from one of the official designers of the year…

“Campana Brothers at Maison & Objet

Campana Brothers at Maison & Objet

Maison & Objet’s designers of the year 2012 are Humberto and Fernando Campana, originally from Brazil, Hubert le Gall from France and Tokujin Yoshioka of Japan. To celebrate, each designer was given the opportunity to create an installation for the show. It was the Campana Brothers’…”

And last, but by no means least, Jaime Hayon’s The Guest for Lladro…

“Jaime Hayon’s The Guest at Maison & Objet

Jaime Hayon The Guest for Lladro at Maison & Objet

Jaime Hayon has created The Guest for Lladró Atelier, launched at Maison & Objet. Founded in 1953 by brothers Juan, José and Vicente, Spanish ceramics brand Lladró is well-k known for its porcelain figurines. Artistic Advisor to the board, Jaime Hayón began…”
