12th annual Helsinki Design Week takes over the Finnish capital

The first eleven days of September 2016 saw Helsinki’s 12th annual design week and the 47th iteration of the show at its heart, Habitare, which was established in 1970. Organised around the theme of “better,” festivities included more than 250 events across the city. confessions of a design geek editor Katie Treggiden hopped on a plane to Finland to check it out.

Founding Editor – Katie Treggiden

Having established confessions of a design geek in 2010, Katie Treggiden has gone on to a career in design journalism, writing for titles such as The Guardian, The Telegraph, Elle Decoration, Stylist, Design Milk and Ideal Home. In 2014, she launched Fiera, an independent magazine dedicated to discovering new talent at the world’s design fairs. Her second book, Makers of East London, was published in 2015.
