The 36 millimetre stainless steel and glass case contains an aluminium disc, with a wedge-shaped hole cut out of it, that slowly rotates, revealing one hour at a time, which, together with a minute hand, shows users only the information they need to tell the time.

“The original idea was based on a simple principle: making an analogue clock which was as easy to read as a digital clock,” says a statement from the brand. “Just one simple advantage: to be easy to read, for everyone – young and old alike – designed to focus on the current time and little else – just simplicity, neatness and immediacy; a little ‘window’ on the current time”

The watch, which has a leather strap, comes in two colours: black and yellow. “The careful choice of materials and meticulous attention to design, make Freakishwatch a unique accessory: light and thin, elegant and comfortable to wear, but also solid and water-resistant,” says Sabrina Fossi Design.

The concept, described by its designers as “a watch for everyone and every situation,” launched on Kickstarter less than a fortnight ago and has already attracted €17,190 of the €30,000 target, with 37 days of the campaign still to go.

Sabrina Fossi Design was established with the aim of designing homeware products that could be entirely made in Italy using traditional handcraft skills. It started its own production in 2013 in partnership with LIAF, a company based near Florence that has been creating handmade interiors and products for home and commercial spaces since 1984.
