Fanny Shorter

I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who stayed up until midnight last night to find out who won the bursary, but for those of you who missed it, I am delighted to announce that Fanny Shorter is 2014’s confessions of a design geek bursary winner. Fanny said (through the medium of twitter in the early hours of this morning!), “Hurray!! I won!! Thank you so much to everybody that retweeted and voted in #coadgbursary! Your support has been amazing!!” Here’s a sneak preview of what her stand at Home London will look like.

Fanny Shorter stand design for Home London

Alongside her stand Fanny has won coverage via Home London and confessions of a design geek website and social media channels, bespoke wall coverings for the stand from wallunica, her product stocked exclusively in the Southbank Centre Shop for three months and included in the window display, a photo shoot with Yeshen Venema, a film shoot with R&A Collaborations, one year’s Design Trust Business Club membership and mentoring with: Head of Buying at The Southbank Centre Shop, Adam Thow; David Gorrod, Seen PR; Keith Stephenson and Mark Hampshire, Mini Moderns; stand design mentoring with winner of Best Stand at Home 2013, Jo Robinson, HAM; social media mentoring with Justyna Sowa, Decorum; and SEO coaching with Daniel Nelson, October Communications; business coaching with Director of The Design Trust, Patricia van den Akker; and 2013′s winner Jessica Hogarth as a ‘buddy’ throughout the process.

And of course all the shortlisted designers will be on the confessions of a design geek stand, so make sure you come along to see all five designers at Home London, Earl’s Court, 12 – 14th January 2014. Congratulations to all five designers – and thank you to all 6,586 of you who voted and all those who helped to spread the word and support the designers via twitter and other platforms. See you in January!
