Bethan Gray montage

A little while ago I went along to Inside Design, an exhibition of Welsh designer Bethan Gray’s work and making processes at Great Western Studios, the shared workspace that Bethan calls home (at least during working hours!).

The exhibition saw the launch of the “macaroon” Brogue Tables, of which I am a huge fan, along with the larger pieces of furniture from Bethan’s collaboration with Lapicida – the smaller pieces were launched at Wallpaper* Handmade in Milan.

Several pieces had been deconstructed to show each stage of the making process, including some experimentations with different finishes – it was really interesting to see how the brogue pattern had been developed for embossing into marble.

And I was lucky enough to meet and interview Bethan, so watch this space for that!
