Falcon Prep Set

I am very excited to announce that I have (finally!) launched my first annual Christmas charity auction over on eBay, in aid of Maggie’s Dundee.

One of the major perks of writing a blog and being a design journalist is all the fabulous freebies I get given. I am of course very grateful to everybody who has been generous enough to give me one of their products, but I am also keenly aware of the need to maintain my independence in order to keep writing a blog that you can trust, so last year I made the decision to auction all these goodies once a year to raise money for charity.

Whether you’re still looking for a few last minute Christmas gifts, or you’re all finished and deserve a treat yourself, check it out and place your bids in the knowledge that every penny will help Maggie’s provide emotional, practical and social support to people with cancer and their families and friends.

I am delighted to report that the auction raised £228.21 for Maggie’s Dundee – enough to pay for staff to run two six-week Managing Stress courses for people with cancer and their families and friends, and for three people to attend a Living With Cancer course.

I’ve saved anything that didn’t sell, and the things I’d been given since photographing everything earlier in the year, for next year’s auction, which I’ll arrange a little earlier in December to give everyone a bit more time!

Thank you so much to everyone for your amazing support! (Especially to Tom Harding who even donated more money after getting such a bargain on the item he won!)
