pinterest :: pink

I’m not sure how I feel about pink. I have a (perhaps slightly annoying!) habit of asking the designers I interview what their favourite colour is. When I asked Ilse Crawford, she replied, “When I grew up there were girls who liked pink and I wasn’t one of them,” which pretty much sums up how I feel about the colour. I hate conforming to stereotypes and pink is just too girlie for me. However, in the process of putting this board together I have discovered some pinks I really like. There’s a dusty grown up pink that looks amazing with warm metallics, there’s neon pink, a sting of which looks amazing with most colours, and then there are quiet barely there pinks that are little more than blushes. This board has made me rethink pink – take a look and see what you think.

    I feel the same about pink being too ‘girly’ however I seem to love certain shades of it. There aren’t many colours that I dislike.

    The last couple of years love affair with pink had led me to have some rethinking my own very negative view of the colour pink. I think I’ve evolved- I can go dusky, blush and even coral, but all that bubblegum in between is still a pink step too far for me.

    Lovely photos and lovely items. The flamingo is a bit manly, isn’t it? 😉 I love pink.
